Almond oil is a natural oil which provides outstanding moisturizing through its highly emollient properties. It can be used all over the body and is suitable for all skin types. Almond oil absorbs into the skin easily, leaving skin radiant and soft. It is often used in massage oils with fragrant essential oils added to achieve different scents. Almond oil relieves itchiness associated with dry and chapped skin. It can also be used to relieve burns and may even be applied to the lips and hair.
Step 1
Rub several drops of almond oil in your hands to warm it up. Depending on your intended usage, you may need more or less. Almond oil may be used all over the body or for spot treatments. When applying to the entire body, use as much as needed to cover the body.
Step 2
Massage the almond oil into the skin, focusing on areas prone to dryness such as the elbows, knees and hands. For areas with calluses such as the feet and hands, apply massage additional oil to help soften the skin. These areas will require additional applications to fully eliminate the hardened skin. You may also apply socks or gloves after applying it to the feet and hands to aid its absorption by retaining body heat as well as the oil.
Step 3
Apply almond oil to the face by warming a few drops in your hands and gently massaging oil into the skin using one or two fingers. Almond oil is great to moisturize the areas under the eyes and it can help eliminate dark circles if you are prone to those.
Step 4
Rub a few drops of almond oil onto your lips after exfoliating to nourish chapped skin.
Step 5
Reapply daily, especially after showers and during the cold winter months. Frequent use will lead to well-moisturized skin that is not chapped, red or itchy.
Tips and Warnings
- Exfoliate your entire body twice a week to remove dead skin cells and then apply almond oil after towel drying. Eliminating dead skin cells prior to applying almond oil will allow for better absorption, leading to softer and healthier skin.
