Everybody has pores on their noses. These pores are the natural openings in the skin through which the hair grows. Usually, pores are barely visible, but things like dead skin cell buildup can cause pores on your nose to look much larger than they actually are. Treating enlarged pores can help reduce their appearance, leaving your nose feeling and looking smoother.
Step 1
Wash your face regularly with a gentle exfoliant. Since the enlarged pores on the nose are commonly caused by dead skin building up around the pores, an exfoliant helps to shrink pores by removing the dead skin. Use caution not to over-exfoliate, which can disrupt the pores and cause acne to break out on the nose.
Step 2
Moisturize your face and nose with a lotion or cream that contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs). AHAs are derived from fruit and milk, and are proven to wash away the dead skin cells that enlarge pores. This will also help to smooth the skin. Check any major drugstore for these products, as a large number of lotions and creams contain AHAs. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for best results.
Step 3
Use a makeup on the nose that will work better for reducing pores. Try to avoid heavy, oil-based foundations as these will cause pores to appear larger, not smaller. Instead, use a powder which helps to minimize the appearance of pores and provides a cleaner look. If wearing foundation is a must, choose one that is water-based and wait until after your moisturizer has completely dried before applying any to the nose.
Step 4
Make an appointment at your local spa to get a pore-reducing facial. Ask for a facial technician who is certified and has a lot of experience in giving facials.
