How to Firm Sagging Skin

Trying to achieve firm and supple skin after losing a lot of weight very quickly can be very difficult, especially if you dropped the pounds as a result of a crash diet, weight loss surgery or illness. Even so, it is possible to achieve a firmer, more toned look for your sagging skin.

Step 1

Work out with weights at least three times a week. While performing cardiovascular exercise keeps your body healthy and helps you burn calories, it doesn't do much for toning your muscles. Toning up your muscles will close in the gap between skin and bone that results in sagging skin. As your muscles contract, they'll pull the skin taut along with them.

Step 2

Use a clay mask on your entire body once a week.

Step 3

Use a moisturizing oil on your skin each day after showering. As you massage it into your skin, you'll improve circulation to your skin, which helps to firm it up and speed up skin renewal.

Step 4

Brush your skin with a dry brush before you hop in the shower or bath. You'll help dead skin cells to slough off and further improve circulation.

Step 5

Use a sunscreen whenever going outside of at least SPF 15. Avoiding sun exposure can make your pores look smaller and prevent wrinkles, which lessens the appearance of sagging skin.

Step 6

Drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep your skin thoroughly hydrated and supple-looking. Getting dehydrated will make sagging skin look worse and can speed up the aging process.

Step 7

Consult with a plastic surgeon to see what options are available to treat your sagging skin problem areas. You might find a laser treatment that stimulates the fibrous bands beneath the skin's surface to regenerate will be best for you. A larger procedure like a facelift or the removal of excess skin may be more appropriate.
