Outdoor Gifts for Dad

Some dads just love to be outdoors, and this can make finding a gift for Dad easier when you see all the outdoor gifts you can choose from. When buying an outdoor gift of any kind for Dad, it's a good idea to purchase as high-quality of merchandise as you can afford, as items meant to be used outdoors sometimes need to withstand extreme changes in weather.

Outdoor Apparel

A good pair of polarized sunglasses is one gift you may want to give Dad. If he's an outdoorsman, you can give him a waterproof jacket, with or without matching waterproof pants. Other ideas include ear warmers, a hat, or a pair of winter gloves with a small space for insertion of a heat pack. Wading boots are a good outdoor gift for a fisherman. A fishing vest with 30-plus pockets to pack fishing tools in is another possibility.

Outdoor Sports

If Dad likes to play baseball, give him a top of the line baseball glove or bat. If hockey is his sport of choice, give him a hockey stick or shin guards. A lacrosse stick, gloves, or helmet are good if Dad plays lacrosse. If soccer is his sport of choice, you may want to give him a pair of soccer cleats or a ball.

Backyard Gifts

Give Dad an outdoor heater if he likes to entertain guests on the patio in chilly weather. A fire pit or grill would also likely be welcome. If you want to help Dad relax, you can give him a hardwood armchair he can recline in.

Outdoor Fishing Gifts

A fishing rod makes a great gift if Dad enjoys fishing. A fishing tool that acts as a knife, pliers, wire cutter, bottle opener and screwdriver is another option. A digital camera that fits in the palm of the hand, an outdoor multipurpose watch, a pair of binoculars, or a book or DVD about fishing are also nice gifts.
