How to Tan to Tighten Face Wrinkles

Tanning to tighten wrinkles is a contradiction to all the warnings out there about the effects of UV rays on the skin. It is true that wrinkles are brought on and worsened with long-term unprotected sun exposure. The sun is not the only way to get a tan, and treating your wrinkles early while getting a sun-kissed glow is possible. There are many products out there that can help.

Step 1

Apply a sunless tanning lotion or vitamin E-enriched moisturizer with tanning properties daily. This should be done until the desired color is achieved and then a weekly maintenance will keep the color lasting. Vitamin E promotes skin cell regrowth and collagen regeneration. Collagen makes the skin plump and supple, eliminating fine lines and wrinkles.

Step 2

Apply a liquid bronzer containing vitamins A, B, C, E and K. These vitamins are important for skin health and healing damaged tissue along with rebuilding the skin and hydrating it. Skin hydration is important to the skin's healing process as it speeds up the complete healing time. The bronzer will give you a tan without UV ray damage.

Step 3

Apply a low SPF sunscreen. If you still desire to tan in a tanning bed or in the sun, a low SPF sunscreen can still give you some protection and the mineral oil contained in the lotion will help eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, allowing you to obtain a tan slowly. Mineral oil keeps skin moisturized deeper into the skin layers and helps prevent burning and further damage that could worsen wrinkles, and allows the skin to plump as the moisturizing effect promotes collagen regeneration.
