How to Make Your Hair Grow Very Fast

For the majority of people, genetics has already determined that our hair will grow at a rate of half an inch per month. If you are looking to grow your hair long in a month or two, growing out your natural hair is probably not the route for you. However, if you just want to have your natural hair grow as fast as it can, taking proper care of your hair is the best way to do so.

Step 1

Treat your hair well when washing. Use a shampoo and conditioner that are good quality, as some of the cheaper, low-quality products contain chemicals that can be damaging to your hair. Do not over-wash your hair, which will strip it of essential protections. Use water that is cool when washing, as hot water can actually damage hair. When drying, do not rub or pull your hair with the towel, but pat it dry. Comb wet hair gently to remove the tangles.

Step 2

Avoid exposing hair to unnecessary heat when styling. Allow hair to air dry as much as possible. Limit the use of blow dryers, curling irons or hot rollers. Avoid using flat irons and crimpers all together if possible, as these are the most damaging to hair. When you do use a heat-based styling tool, apply a protective product to the hair first to reduce damage as much as possible.

Step 3

When pulling hair up or back, keep it loose. Tight hairstyles can pull out or break off hair, preventing it from growing long. Be sure to use hair accessories that are made to be put in and removed without breaking or pulling out hair.

Step 4

Get regular haircuts to remove damaged ends and prevent damage from moving up the strands of hair. Damaged hair will break off easily and won't let hair grow longer.

Step 5

Be sure your body is getting adequate nutrition, which will promote the growth of healthy hair. Include healthy proteins and a variety of fruits and vegetables. Cut back on foods that are high in sugar and unhealthy fats. Eliminate smoking, caffeine, and carbonation. Include an over-the-counter multivitamin as a part of your daily diet, to fill in the gaps in your nutrition. Taking extra supplements that focus on hair growth are expensive and unnecessary.

Step 6

Take care to help your body relax. Get 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night. Eliminate stress through meditation, yoga or breathing techniques. High amounts of stress and poor sleeping habits can have a negative effect on hair growth patterns.
