Foot detox patches are popular among people who subscribe to alternative therapy to remove toxins from the body while sleeping. This fad started in Asia and recently spread west. The detoxification patch manufacturers claim the body accumulates toxins from the environment and foods eaten and the patch will draw out the toxins through the feet while the wearer is sleeping. Many different manufacturers produce the patches. The detox patches are easy to apply and use.
Step 1
Wash and dry your feet thoroughly before bedtime.
Step 2
Remove the backing from the adhesive side of the detox patch. Apply one patch to the sole of each foot. Avoid any areas with skin irritation or open wounds.
Step 3
Place socks over your feet to help keep the patches in place while you sleep.
Step 4
Wear the pads overnight, but do not exceed 12 hours of wear.
Step 5
Remove the patches from the bottom of your feet. Observe the color of the patches. They will often appear brown, tan, black or gray.
Step 6
Dispose of the used patches.
Step 7
Repeat the process nightly until the patches are not discolored in the morning.

- Watch for any signs of skin irritation from the adhesive on the patch.
