It's usually best to avoid popping pimples at all costs, but sometimes, especially in the case of whiteheads, they can be popped by the slightest touch. In these cases, you'll need to take extra care in helping the popped pimple heal. As long as you don't continue to pick at it, your pimple should heal without leaving a trace.
Step 1
Wash your hands with soap and water and dry them on a lint-free towel.
Step 2
Wash your face with your usual facial cleanser, or a very gentle one like Neutrogena or Cetaphil. Dry your face by gently patting it with a towel.
Step 3
Clear the area around the popped pimple with a cotton pad soaked in an antiseptic toner that contains witch hazel. This will kill bacteria and help clear off any pus or dead skin that's stuck there.
Step 4
Dab a small amount of antibiotic cream or gel like Neosporin onto the popped pimple to keep out any lingering bacteria.
Step 5
Cover this area with a dot band aid to protect it from further injury. Once the blemish scabs over, ditch the band aid and allow it to heal in the open air.
