Homeopathic Cure for Candida

Systemic or local yeast infections, such as vaginal infections or thrush, are caused by the Candida albicans microorganism, which is always present in the bowel, but whose growth can get out of control due to various factors. Poor nutrition, excess sugar consumption and the use of antibiotics can throw off the natural balance of Candida in the system, causing yeast infections, explains TrueStarHealth.com. Homeopathic remedies can soothe and relieve symptoms of yeast infections while allowing the body to return to a state of normalcy.

Step 1

Write down the symptoms of your yeast infection so you get a clear overview of what's going on. This is called "taking your case."

Step 2

Make note of whether there is itching and at what time of the month--before, during or after menstruation.

Step 3

Notice if there is any burning or other pain associated with the infection.

Step 4

Describe the discharge, both its color and consistency. At what time of the day or month is the discharge better and when is it worse?

Step 5

Record your mood--whether you are angry, sad, fearful, irritable, feel whiny, or any other mental and emotional symptoms you may be experiencing.

Step 6

Choose a remedy from the next five descriptions to help you with your yeast infection.

Step 7

Use Borax if you have a vaginal yeast infection with a discharge that is clear and thick and reminds you of egg white, according to "Everybody's Guide to Homeopathic Medicines." You may experience the discharge as a feeling of warm water rushing out of the vagina. You may also be sensitive to noise and feel very nervous and jittery. If so, Borax may help.

Step 8

Try Sepia for discharges that are itchy and yellow or greenish with an offensive odor and the consistency of cottage cheese, according to "Everybody's Guide to Homeopathic Medicines." You may feel irritable and worn out, and may feel like your insides are falling out and you have to sit down or cross your legs to hold everything in. If so, Sepia should help.

Step 9

Take Sulfur if the discharge is yellow, creamy-looking and smells bad. There may be violent itching and burning pain.

Step 10

Use Kali bichromicum (Kali bich.) for vaginal yeast infections that have a yellow discharge that is thick, stringing, tenacious and sticky. The vulva will burn and itch from the discharge. Your symptoms may be aggravated in the morning, feeling better later in the day.

Step 11

Take Calcarea carbonica if there is intense itching before or after your period. The discharge is milky white or thick and yellow, burning, and may come in sporadic gushes of liquid, according to "Everybody's Guide to Homeopathic Medicines." If you crave sweets and eggs, are chilly, overweight and tire easily, this remedy may be helpful.

Step 12

Take a dose of the chosen remedy one to three times a day depending on the severity of the infection for up to three days only, advises "Everybody's Guide to Homeopathic Medicines." Stop dosing as soon as your symptoms seem to be improving or changing substantially. Wait at least three days before changing remedies, if you need to do so.
