Kids' Sleepover Games

When having a sleepover party for the kids, parents should prepare a set of sleepover games to help keep them entertained. According to Kaboose, the number of guests should be considered when planning the sleepover. The basics such as sleeping bags and flashlights should be ready, and guests should understand they are not allowed to leave the house unless given permission. After ground rules are set, the kids can proceed having fun with sleepover games.

Who Am I?

In this game, the names of famous people are printed on index cards. Players take turns being "it." The index card is placed on the back of the person who is "it" without the person seeing the name printed on it. The person who is "it" walks around the room and everyone else converses as though the person actually is the famous person. This continues until the person who is "it" guesses the identity or five minutes is up.

Truth or Dare

This game can become a sleepover favorite. Guests sit or lie in a circle, and one person is chosen to go first. This person asks someone, "Truth or dare?" If the response is "truth," the first person must ask a question truthfully, even if it's embarrassing. If the response is "dare," the first person must do the action she is then "dared" to do. Everyone gets at least one turn asking "Truth or dare?"

Grab It

In this game, gifts are awarded to the winner of card games such as Crazy 8s or Go Fish. The prizes are purchased ahead of time and can include a book, a CD, candy, nail polish and other gifts. Each player chooses which card game is to be played in turn and selects the gift that the winner of the game receives. The winner of the game receives the gift.

Panic Word

In this game, 100 words are written on index cards. Use any words such as shoelace, frown or plate. The cards are stacked and placed face down. The kids are divided into two teams and face each other. One player from the first team looks at the first word and gives clues to the first player's teammates, such as "What does my face do when I'm sad?" A two-minute time limit is enforced. If the team guesses the word, they get a point. If they don't, the other team gets a point. Each team takes turns until every player has picked a word. Points are totaled to determine the winning team.

Junk Food Dishes

Write down the names of different kinds of food, including junk food, on index cards. Sleepover guests select three of the cards and then must prepare a snack that includes the three foods.
