Wrinkles are caused by innumerable factors including disease, environmental factors, natural aging and/or a poor diet. If left untreated wrinkles especially on your face can cause you to appear old and make your skin look unhealthy. Luckily there are many treatments for skin wrinkles such as skin peeling or applying medicated creams such as Retin-A. Retin-A or Tretinoin is a very effective skin medication used to treat wrinkles. It is derived from vitamin A and is also used to treat other skin conditions such acne. Retin-A must be applied to your skin properly is important in order to see effective results.
Step 1
Take a shower at night to help moisten and prepare your skin for the medication. Retin-A is usually applied at night. Wash your skin with a soft moisturizing soap. Do not scrub your skin with a washcloth, sea sponge or loofah sponge. These materials can cause skin irritation. Retin-A cannot be applied to irritated skin.
Step 2
Apply the Retin-A cream to the surface of the affected skin and massage it slowly and gently until it has been completely absorbed. Leave it on overnight and shower it off in the morning. Use Retin-A cream 5 times a week, and thereafter about 3-4 times a week or as instructed by your physician. Do not apply Retin-A to skin which is affected by eczema, psoriasis or melanoma without your physician's approval.
Step 3
Apply sunscreen after showering or one hour before going outdoors. Using Retin-A will make your skin sensitive and more susceptible to sunburn. Use a high quality sunscreen lotion such as La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Lait SPF 60 to help protect your skin from sunburn. Sunscreen can also act as a moisturizer and reduce your skin from flaking.
