If you have thin eyebrows or have removed too much hair during plucking or waxing, you likely are interested in eyebrow hair growth. Eyebrow hair also can be lost as a result of taking certain medications or suffering from a medical condition, such as thyroid disease or hormonal irregularities. Speak to your doctor if you have concerns about any type of hair loss.
Medication
Minoxidil is an ingredient found in numerous hair growth products, including Rogaine. It is applied topically and can stimulate growth in all areas of the body, including the eyebrows. You most likely will need to apply the solution twice a day for best results. Follow the product's package directions.
Nutrition
Including certain nutrients in your diet may help stimulate eyebrow growth. Certain nutritional deficiencies can cause hair loss, including in the eyebrows. Make sure you eat a diet rich in protein, iron, B vitamins and vitamin C. Eating a well-rounded diet that includes green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, carrots, citrus fruits, lean cuts of beef and poultry, fish and low-fat dairy can help you achieve this. There are also over-the-counter supplements that provide nutrients required for hair growth.
Massage
Massage is done as a way to stimulate blood flow to a particular area of the body. By massaging the eyebrows, you are bringing blood to the area and encouraging hair growth. Massage the eyebrows using small circular strokes for five- to 10-minute intervals daily. A small amount of olive oil can be used while massaging the area.
Over-the-Counter Products
There are numerous over-the-counter beauty products available that can be used to get your eyebrows to grow. One popular product is LiBrow, a combination growth stimulator and hair conditioner made especially for the eyebrows. The manufacturer states that with daily use, you should notice thicker eyebrows in six to eight weeks.
Considerations
If you are considered about your appearance while your eyebrows grow, you can use an eyebrow pencil to darken the area. These can be purchased at any beauty supply store.
