Facial hair grows differently depending on the person, and especially between the sexes. But that doesn't mean women don't see growth. Facial hair growth on women is usually confined to specific areas and it is usually unwanted. Home remedy facial hair removal can be used.

Function

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are two types of treatments that are done in a facility by professionals. Both procedures can end up being long processes and can cost hundreds of dollars. Laser hair removal also favors people who have light complexions and dark hair. Home remedies are a more affordable option that can be done regardless of the color, thickness or amount of hair on your face.

Waxing

Waxing kits come with an applicator, a durable cloth strip and the wax itself. The wax is heated and applied to the area of the skin where there is hair. The strip is then flattened out over the top of it and ripped off in a fast downward motion. The hair gets ripped out by the roots and does not grow back for three to eight weeks. Regular waxing can slow the growth down over time. This type of home remedy is generally done by women with small patches of hair.

Shaving

Shaving is a home remedy generally done by men only. The face gets washed and left wet. Shaving cream is then applied and a razor is gently run against the skin to remove the hair. This type of removal lasts for one to three days because it only removes the hair at the surface of the skin. The drawback with this hair removal is that razor burn, bumps and ingrown hairs can all develop. That is why it is important to always use new razor blades.

Depilatory

A facial depilatory comes in the form of a cream. With this remedy, the skin gets heated with a warm washcloth or water to soften the hair and then the cream is applied. It sits on the skin for the amount of time the manufacturer recommends and is then wiped off along with the hair. During the time the depilatory is setting up, the active chemicals it contains break down the keratin in the hair, which is what gives the hair its strength. Depilatories take the hair off just below the level of the skin and the effect can last a few weeks. When using a depilatory, avoid contact with your mouth, eyes and any areas where the skin is broken.

Epilation

Epilators are hand-held devices that are run over your face. This appliance pulls the hair out by the roots by way of a rotating disc, spiral of wire or series of tweezers. Hair removal with an epilator can last between two and three weeks.
Plucking is another type of epilation that can be done with a pair of tweezers. In this home remedy, grasp each hair with the tweezers close to the skin and then pull straight out. You can expect to be hair-free through plucking for the same time frame as using an epilator.

Identification

Bleaching is not a removal system, but it helps lighten the hair to a point where it is unnoticeable. Activation powder is mixed with bleach cream in a bowl. It is then applied to the facial hair and left on for several minutes to turn the hair a golden blond color. The bleach then gets washed off and the hair is disguised.
