How to Jump Higher in 2 Weeks

Being able to jump higher is a great advantage in many sports. The ability to get high in the air as obvious advantages in basketball, volleyball and soccer, but it also helps in football, baseball and tennis. Building your jumping skills will also result in improved overall confidence in the sport you play.

Step 1

Do calf raises to build explosive jumping power. Your calf muscles are most responsible for your ability to jump for height or distance as well as your foot speed. Stand in the middle of the floor (away from any walls or rails you could grasp) and raise up on your toes. Hold the lift for 2 seconds and then return to the starting position. Do this 20 times, take a 30-second break and repeat the set.

Step 2

Put on a pair of Jumpsoles to improve the explosive power in your calf muscles. Jumpsoles attach to the front of your shoes and provide a significant workout for your calf muscles. Go to the local high school or college track and measure off eight 10-yard sections. Sprint 10 yards while wearing the Jumpsoles and then walk 10 yards. Do this three more times, take a break and then repeat the set.

Step 3

Put on a pair of Jumpsoles and stand on your left foot. Jump as high as you can on your left foot and come down on your Jumpsole. Do this five times before switching feet and jumping off your right foot. This will build explosive jumping strength and help you to jump higher in a matter of a few days.

Step 4

Do the jumping knee tuck exercise. Stand in the middle of the gym and jump as high as you can. As you are approaching the apex of your jump, grab your knees and raise them to your chest. Release them as you come down and land as softly as possible. Jump again immediately after landing, and do this exercise 10 times. Take a 1-minute break and then repeat the set.

Step 5

Drink at least eight bottles of water every day. Water is the body's natural lubricant, and it will help your muscles recover faster after a workout, especially the calf muscles that you have been working hard while wearing your Jumpsoles.
