Overview

One a Day Energy is a type of multivitamin produced by Bayer Healthcare. It contains a blend of vitamins and herbs intended to increase a person’s energy levels. It has higher levels of B vitamins as well as a guarana blend to provide a more energetic feeling. If you are considering taking One a Day Energy, you should first review the side effects.

Jitteriness

The Guarana blend found in One a Day Energy contains about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. You may experience jitteriness, headache or a rapid heart rate due to the caffeine. Individuals with known caffeine sensitivity are more likely to have these side effects. People may have difficulty sleeping if they take the vitamin supplement too late in the day.

Allergic Reaction

The One a Day Energy vitamin contains soy, a known allergen, as one of its ingredients. If you have any side effects, such as difficulty breathing, rash, hives or headache, stop taking the product and notify your doctor. These are all symptoms of a possible allergic reaction.

Nausea

You may find that the One a Day Energy vitamin can cause you to experience an upset stomach. Additional side effects include nausea and vomiting. You are more likely to feel these effects on an empty stomach. Patients are more likely to avoid these side effects if the vitamin is taken with food.

Constipation

The One a Day Energy vitamin supplement has an increase amount of iron, another component intended to provide more energy. Too much iron can sometimes cause a person to experience constipation.
