The Matol Diet involves using a line of foods and supplements produced by Matol in order to lose weight. The Matol Diet products are intended to act as meal replacements to help reduce carbohydrate and caloric intake and lose weight. Other purported benefits include the ability to lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels. The Matol Diet consists of four phases and can be used under the discretion of a doctor.
Step 1
Eat three Matol meal replacements during the first phase of the diet. Matol meal replacement foods include chicken soup, cocoa drink, vanilla pudding, maple oatmeal and asparagus soup. One regular meal during the first phase should consist of a high protein item, such as meat or fish and a vegetable accompaniment. Replacements are available from the Matol Diet website.
Step 2
Lose 70 percent of a weight loss goal. Once you lose the majority of the weight you want to lose, you move on to the second phase. During this time, you'll have two Matol meal replacements and two regular high protein meals with vegetables.
Step 3
Allow a small amount of carbs and fats into the diet once you have reached your weight loss goal. For the third phase, you will spend two weeks eating a small number of carbs and fats. Three servings are permitted and typically consumed at breakfast.
Step 4
Add two carbohydrate servings to your dinner selection. This is the maintenance phase and you will no longer need to rely on the meal replacements for the Matol Diet. Instead, choose high protein and low carb items for most meals.
Tips and Warnings
