How Does DermaWand Oxygenerating Skin-Care System Work?

Components

As oxygen facials delivered in a dermatologist or esthetician's office grow in popularity as a means to rejuvenate skin and reduce pore size, the DermaWand was created as a means to help users achieve the same effect at home. The DermaWand System is made up of several components: the DermaWand itself, which sends pulses of light to the face; a pre-face treatment; a Hydra Infusion Treatment; a hydrating skin mist; and the Hydra Support Face Cream.

Step for Use

The steps taken for the DermaWand system often depend upon the number of creams used. Prior to treatment, the DermaVital Pre-Face Treatment is applied. This ensures the skin is moist and prepped for use with the wand. Next, the wand is applied over the skin for a period of three minutes at a time. The wand should be moved over the entire face: the forehead, cheeks, nose, under the eyes and the chin. When the wand is applied, it pushes enriched oxygen to the epidermis and the skin layers below in order to "puff" the skin and restore vitality.
Following the DermaWand application, the Hydra Support Face Cream is applied. Throughout the day, the Hydrating Skin Mist may be applied to the face in order to keep it hydrated.

Effects

The DermaWand itself is designed under the principle of "skin warming." The wand emits 114,000 thermal cycles of light per second. This thermal energy "excites" the cells and increases cell turnover and cell metabolism, creating a fresher, more youthful appearance. This also assists in drainage, which helps to detoxify the skin's cells and emits toxins.
According to the DermaWand website, when applied to the skin for three minutes, the skin is purified and therefore takes on a smoother texture. The DermaWand emits oxygen, which also aids in the purification process. This energy also is touted to lessen the "pitted" appearance the skin can take on when the pores are enlarged.
