Many females carry their extra weight on their thighs, hips and buttocks. Although there are over-the-counter creams and lotions that claim they can help you lose fat quickly, none have been proven to work. If you want to get rid of the "thunder thighs" label quickly, you will need to work hard to change your dieting and exercise habits. Speak to your doctor before embarking on a new diet and exercise plan.
Step 1
Cut out high-fat and high-sugar foods. Avoid fast food, fried foods, cakes, cookies and candies. Eat foods high in protein and fiber but low in saturated fat. Some examples include chicken, turkey, beans, vegetables and fruit.
Step 2
Engage in aerobic exercise. Aerobics can get rid of fat in all areas of your body, including the thighs. Walking, swimming, jogging and jumping rope are good exercises to help you work out. If you want to lose the weight on your thighs fast, plan to spend at least an hour a day participating in some form of aerobics.
Step 3
Perform targeted exercises. Squats, lunges and leg curls can work different areas of the thighs in order to slim them down fast. For the squats, spread your legs shoulder-width apart and bend at the knees. Lunges involve lunging forward with one leg as your other leg stays stationery. To perform leg curls, hold alternate legs up near your buttocks. Perform at least three sets of 10-20 reps for each exercise.
Step 4
Stretch after exercising. It is important to stretch your thighs after a workout in order to avoid bulking up in this area. Spend 15 minutes after you exercise lunging and performing leg curls.
