The average human body is capable of achieving great feats through the course of the day. It is not uncommon to work 12 hours, head to the gym for an hour of exercise, watch the late-night news and get up at 4 a.m. the next morning to do the same thing again. This type of schedule might work for a while, but sooner or later, exhaustion can set in. If you feel you might be exhausted, there are several signs to look for.
Step 1
Pay attention to your mood. If you get irritable at irrelevant issues and explode for no reason, you can be exhausted. Use your feelings of depression and anxiety as a gauge.
Step 2
Evaluate your levels of stress. If you feel constantly under stress and you are not able to lower your levels, you might be exhausted.
Step 3
Follow your sleeping habits. If you wake up multiple times during the night or cannot get to sleep at all, you can be suffering from exhaustion. Also pay attention to your levels of fatigue during the day. Being chronically tired is a sign of exhaustion.
Step 4
Take into consideration your state of health. If you are suffering from exhaustion, you can develop headaches, stomach aches, muscle pains and irritable bowels. You may feel weak throughout the day.
Step 5
Pay attention to your mental frame of mind. Exhaustion can cause you to lose focus easily or not have the ability to concentrate on the smallest things.
Step 6
Recognize how you feel with daily activities. If you have to force yourself to do things that you once found interesting, you can be suffering from exhaustion.
Step 7
Be aware of your dependencies. If you have to rely on stimulants such as coffee and energy drinks every day to get by, you can be exhausted.
