Program Description
There are many reasons to want to learn how to dance--master an art form, try a new hobby, or look better at your wedding reception. Weight loss, however is a commonly forgotten perk of dance. It's a wonderful way to drop pounds and makes an otherwise boring cardiovascular routine fun, engaging, and motivating. Dance can burn hundreds of calories per hour, while shedding body fat and improving endurance.
Actions
1. Try joining a dance-based exercise class with friends.
2. Purchase a dance-fitness DVD to use at home, rain or shine.
3. Sign up for ballroom lessons with friends or a partner, and enjoy a “sneaky source†of exercise.
4. Try turning on your favorite music for 30 minutes per day and dancing in the privacy of your living room to burn calories.
5. Try cross-training through dance by alternating between all forms: jazz, tap, hip-hop, or whatever feels comfortable.
