How to Get Rid of Large Pores Naturally

Pores tend to become larger as people get older. This is because of a reduction in the skin's collagen level, says Dr. Syed Amiry in a video tutorial called "How to Treat Large Pores." Therefore, skincare products that stimulate collagen growth are helpful for treating large pores. Keeping the pores clean is also important for healthy skin and to reduce the appearance of large pores. You can opt for cosmetic surgery to open these enlarged pores, but this is costly. Cheaper, natural alternatives include home remedies for proper facial cleansing and to improve skin tightness and collagen growth.

Step 1

Apply a weekly face pack to tighten your skin. Mix 2 tbsp. crushed pineapple, 1 tsp. egg whites and 3 drops honey. Once the mixture has achieved a smooth consistency, apply it to your skin. Wash this off with warm water after it dries. This remedy will decrease the size of pores, according to Hair N Skin Care.

Step 2

Place almonds in a bowl and soak them overnight. Create an almond paste after taking off their skins. Mix in 3 drops of rose water. Spread the mask onto your face. Wash the mask off with warm water after it has dried. Almonds can aid the skin in resuming its elasticity.

Step 3

Put a camphor lotion onto your face two days a week before bed. Putting camphor lotion on your skin more frequently may dry your skin out, according to Hair N Skin Care.

Step 4

Wash your face with a pore scrub that contains amino-peptides nightly, as recommended by Dr. Amiry. Use the scrub to exfoliate and clean your skin deeply, which Dr. Amiry says will make pores less visible. Rub the scrub onto your face with warm water and then rinse it off.

Step 5

Use a toner that contains salicylic acid and alpha and beta hydroxy acids. Dr. Amiry says that the alpha and beta hydroxy acids in toners cleanse the skin with salicylic acid, an ingredient known to break up whiteheads and blackheads, according to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), a part of the Department of Health and Human Services' National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Step 6

Use a moisturizer once your skin is dry. Salicylic acid can dry out your skin, so a moisturizer will combat that effect.

Tips and Warnings

  • Make a mask from plain yogurt with a pinch of rock salt and use in place of the crushed pineapple mask once a week, if you prefer, or if it works better for you.
