Sudal-12 is available as a chewable tablet, and you must take it as your doctor instructs.
Common Side Effects
According to Drugs.com, Sudal-12 typically causes dry mouth, blurry vision, nausea, trouble sleeping and difficulty concentrating. It can also cause stomach problems, constipation, ringing in your ears, restlessness and loss of appetite. Prolonged constipation can lead to severe straining of your bowels, rectal irritation and hemorroids. Hemorrhoids refer to enlarged and swollen veins of your anus and rectum. Physical manifestations of hemorrhoids include bright red blood with bowel movements and pain. Sudal-12 can also cause blurry vision, nausea and dry mouth. Phone your doctor if Sudal-12's side effects persist for more than one week.
Serious Side Effects
Sudal-12's serious side effects include trouble urinating, dizziness, nervousness, trouble breathing, a fast heartbeat (tachycardia) and an irregular heart beat (arrythmia), according to MedlinePlus. Difficulty urinating can lead to increased levels of blood urea nitrogen (BUN). BUN is made in the liver and is supposed to be excreted by the kidneys. However, trouble urinating prevents you from excreting BUN in your urine. A fast and irregular heartbeat affects the way your heart pumps blood. Erratic heart rhythms affect the amount of blood distributed to the rest of your body. Drugs.com says that Sudal-12 also causes confusion, hallucinations, dizziness and anxiety. It can cause increased blood pressure. Signs of increased high blood pressure include a severe headache, chest pain, numbness and seizures. It can also cause easy bleeding or bruising, body aches and the flu. Low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia) cause easy bleeding or bruising, because your blood doesn't clot. Tell your doctor immediately if Sudal-12 causes these side effects.
Additional Concerns
Avoid Sudal-12 if you are allergic to chlorpheniramine or pseudoephedrine. An allergic reaction to these medications includes trouble breathing, hives and swelling of your tongue, throat or lips. Drugs.com says you must tell your physician if you have diabetes, kidney disease, an enlarged prostate, diabetes and heart disease. Your doctor may have to adjust your dose of Sudal-12. This drug is excreted into breast milk, so tell your physician if you are breastfeeding. Sudal-12 can also contain phenylalanine. Do not take Sudal-12 if you if you have phenylketonuria, a condition in which your body cannot metabolize phenylalanine.
