While visiting your doctor for laser treatment, endermologie massage or mesotherapy injections may be the easiest way to deal with cellulite, there are also many things you can do at home to help you treat the problem. While home remedies won't quickly (or completely) get rid of the problem, they will help you reduce the appearance of cellulite and improve the way the skin looks and feels.
Step 1
Brush your skin vigorously with a soft body brush when you're in the shower. This activates circulation and helps with the release of fat. Brush in a circular motion and use a body scrub lotion if possible, as this will help you shed dead skin and improve the area's overall area look.
Step 2
Reduce your intake of fats, sodium and processed foods. Increase the amount of fiber you eat and drink lots of water. A healthy diet will help you lose unwanted pounds and improve the appearance of dimpled skin.
Step 3
Try essential oils. Several are used to treat cellulite and can simply be massaged into the skin after a shower and body scrubbing. Use patchouli, juniper or rosemary oils. Mix the oil with lotion or with almond or olive oil, and then massage into the affected area to help increase circulation.
Step 4
Brew some coffee and use the warm grounds for a massage. Simply mix the grounds with some almond oil to help form a paste. Massage the mix on the area where the cellulite is. Then wrap with plastic wrap (cellophane) to keep the area warm and allow the coffee to work. Rinse after 30 minutes.
Step 5
Try anti-cellulite creams. They can be applied at home and used as an add-on to other treatments you are following. While there are no studies proving their efficacy, some can help you firm the skin or get rid of excess water, temporarily diminishing the appearance of cellulite.
