Testosterone Gel Treatment

Testosterone gel is used to manage conditions such as hypogonadism, in which you are deficient in the male hormone testosterone, according to the National Library of Medicine. Typical conditions of hypogonadism include orchiectomy (surgical removal of the testes) and cryptorchidism (a failure of the testes to descend).

The National Library of Medicine says that you may develop a skin reaction at the application site. These symptoms include redness, itching, swelling and even irritation. Testosterone gel's other side effects include a headache, trouble sleeping, mood swings and an increased blood pressure.
