Program Description
The Atkins Diet claims that weight loss success focuses on two main principles: decreased carbohydrate intake and increased protein and fat consumption. Refined sugars found in baked goods, breads, crackers and chips such as flour, honey, high-fructose corn syrups and trans fats should be avoided. Emphasis lies on protein consumption and vitamin and mineral supplementation so the body burns stored fat instead of blood sugar or glucose.
