Program Description
The Weight Watchers Diet focuses on lifestyle changes, including healthy eating, physical activity and emotional well-being. At local support groups, members receive tools, tips and encouragement to keep them motivated so weight is lost slowly and sensibly. Weight Watchers offers two plans members can follow: The Flex Plan teaches members to keep track of points assigned to food, while the Core Plan lists nutritious foods without counting.

Actions

1. Eat foods from a specific list in the Flex Plan. Foods are assigned points according to their calorie, fat and fiber content in the Flex Plan.

2. Choose wholesome nutritious foods from a list for the Core Plan, where foods are not assigned a point system.

3. Reduce body weight by 5 to 10 percent initially.

4. Incorporate regular physical activity and track progress with a point system.

5. Obtain weekly group support to help you stay motivated and reach your target goals.
