Many wrinkle creams claim to be able to take years off a woman's face or instantly make her appear younger. While most creams can help moisturize skin and plump cells, none can completely eliminate wrinkles. However, the Mayo Clinic says that, while there is no instant "facelift in a bottle," there are ingredients that can improve the appearance of facial skin.
No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Beauty Serum
An article in the April 28, 2009 issue of the "British Journal of Dermatology" reported that No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum, a product manufactured by Boots in the United Kingdom, was able to "significantly" reduce the appearance of wrinkles in 70 percent of users after 12 months.
Researchers at the University of Manchester tested the product on a group of 60 volunteers who had noticeable signs of sun damage. They found that the serum stimulated production of fibrillin-1, a protein that encourages elasticity in sun-damaged skin. It also contains a special antioxidant complex that helps protect against damaging free radicals and concentrated levels of intense skin-firming pro-retinol complex that boost and maintain elasticity.
After the report in the "British Journal of Dermatology" aired on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the serum sold out within minutes and sales skyrocketed to two every 10 seconds. The product is also sold in the United States and Canada.
Murad's Intensive Wrinkle Reducer for Eyes
The Business Wire website reported that Murad's Intensive Wrinkle Reducer for Eyes won the 2008 Editor's Choice award, given by "DaySpa Magazine" for its ability to hydrate even the driest skin. The product uses an anti-aging formula containing durian, an Asian superfruit with a distinctive odor. The serum was formulated to reduce the appearance of crow's feet and illuminate the eye area.
Active ingredients in the product include UGL Complex, which increases collagen synthesis, hyaluronic microspheres which increase intercellular water for long-lasting hydration to the delicate eye area, and retinyl palmitate, which increases cell proliferation to improve skin texture and tone.
L'uvalla's Anti-Wrinkle Eye/Lip Cream
The Truth in Aging website praises L'uvalla's Anti-Wrinkle Eye/Lip Cream for its silky, lightweight feel and ability to minimize fine lines.
The L'uvalla website says this product, for use in both the eye and lip area, is formulated for all skin types. It uses argan oil, an oil with twice the Vitamin E of olive oil, palmarosa and rosewood oils, which contain essential fatty acids, essential nutrients and antioxidants that neutralize free radicals and regenerate the skin by boosting natural collagen production. The product also contains hazelnut and sunflower, which aid in eliminating puffiness and dark circles.
