Hair can become thinner as a result of aging, illness or genetics, which can cause you to not feel like you look your best. Luckily, the scalp can be stimulated into regrowing new hair, and making the hair you already have feel thicker. By regularly massaging and vibrating your scalp, the hair follicles will receive more blood flow, which will carry more oxygen to the area. This will encourage the development of new, healthy hair cells.
Step 1
Apply a scalp-stimulating oil massage utilizing a prong-style hairbrush. Pour 1 tbsp. of vitamin E oil into your hand, which is nutrient-rich and nourishing to the skin. Add five drops of tea tree oil to the vitamin E oil, mixing them together well in your hand. Rub your hands together to distribute the oil evenly, then apply the oils to your scalp. Use your fingers to massage the oil into your scalp for five minutes. Press a prong-style hairbrush gently onto your scalp, and use it to massage your scalp. Move the brush in small circles, covering all the areas of your scalp. Massage more vigorously around the areas that are thinning or are experiencing hair loss. After 10 minutes, shampoo your hair like normal. Give yourself a scalp massage up to three times per day to stimulate new hair growth.
Step 2
Apply vibration to your scalp to stimulate the follicles. Purchase a vibrating massager, which can be found at any department store or natural foods market. Turn the massager on, and let it rest on your scalp. Move the massager around the entire area in a circular motion, focusing on the areas of your scalp that are thinning. Continue to vibrate your scalp for five to 10 minutes. Apply vibration to your scalp up to three times per day to increase circulation to the areas of hair loss.
Step 3
Use a clarifying shampoo to remove follicle-blocking dead skin cells. When the follicles are blocked with dead skin cells, it can decrease the blood flow and oxygen to the hair. Using a clarifying shampoo removes dead skin cells, enabling the follicles to make new hair cells more easily. When washing your hair, squeeze a quarter-sized amount into your hand, and spread it onto your scalp. Use your fingers to scrub your scalp thoroughly, then rinse it clean with water. Use a clarifying shampoo once per day to remove dead skin cells.
