How to Trim Eye Lashes From Xalatin

Xalatin is a medication used to reduce the pressure in the eye by increasing fluid drainage, explains Drugs.com. The Dermatology Online Journal istates that eye lash growth is often stimulated by the use of Xalatin. For some, this may be a beneficial effect of using a necessary medication to treat their eye condition. Other individuals, especially men, may not enjoy the excessively long lashes. Trimming them may be one possible way to remedy the situation.

Step 1

Set up your magnifying mirror so you can have the use of both hands. You should try to set it at eye level, whether you are sitting or standing. Being in a comfortable position will help you remain steady while trimming.

Step 2

Remove any makeup from the eyelashes, if applicable. Clean them thoroughly and ensure they are dry before starting with the scissors. Water and makeup can make the lashes appear even longer. For trimming purposes, you need to see the exact length of the lashes.

Step 3

Begin trimming the hairs from the center of the eye. The lashes are likely to be the longest at this point. Take only a minute amount of hair with each motion of the scissors.

Step 4

Take the same amount of hair off in the inner and outer edge of the lash line. Do this for both eyes. Complete this first small trim first before taking more hair length.

Step 5

Brush off the loose hairs. Reevaluate your lash length before cutting more. Lashes grow at a slow rate, if you make a mistake it will be noticeable for a long time. Stand back from a regular mirror and see if your lashes seem of normal length. If they do not, then take off a tiny bit of hair again and reevaluate.

Tips and Warnings

  • Have someone help you if possible. This person may find it easier to remove the lash length without making mistakes. Request assistance from a cosmetologist, including the professional who cuts your hair.
