Acetyl-L-carnitine may improve sleep function, but no solid evidence exists yet. Research into the supplement's effect on the elderly found that those taking it reported a reduction in sleep disorders. Current acetyl-L-carnitine research generally focus on age-related cognitive decline and related issues and not on sleep.
