How to Let Hair Grow Faster

Many people would love to have long, luxurious hair but do not know how to get their hair to grow faster and thicker. It is important to understand that the hair follicles are surrounded by tiny blood vessels. When these blood vessels are circulating properly, oxygen can reach the hair follicle more easily. According to the University of California, oxygen helps promote new hair cell growth, and an increase in oxygen to the hair follicle can help hair grow faster. Following a routine that stimulates the hair follicles will increase blood circulation to the scalp, increasing oxygen to the follicle root.

Step 1

Increase blood circulation to the hair follicles by applying a tea tree and vitamin E oil scalp massage. In a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp. of vitamin E oil and 3 drops of tea tree oil. According to Arizona State University, these oils nourish and stimulate the scalp. Spread the oils onto your scalp using your fingers to massage them in. After the oils are evenly distributed onto your scalp, massage your scalp with a prong-style hairbrush. Move the brush in small circles, massaging the entire area for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat once per day to increase blood flow to the hair follicles.

Step 2

Stimulate the hair follicles by vibrating the scalp. According to HairSalon.org, vibrating the scalp increases circulation to the root of the hair and helps increase hair growth. Place a vibrating massage device onto your scalp and move it around the scalp in circular motions for 10 to 15 minutes. If you do not own a vibrating massager, you can purchase one at any health food store or through an online merchant. Vibrate the scalp once per day to stimulate the hair follicles.

Step 3

Remove dead skin cells from the scalp by shampooing your hair with a clarifying shampoo. According to HairInfinity.com, the scalp can become suffocated when dead skin cells build up on the scalp. Using a clarifying shampoo removes dead skin cells from the scalp and enables the hair follicles to receive sufficient blood supply, which can increase hair growth. Wet your hair well with water and apply a quarter-sized amount of clarifying shampoo to your scalp. Use your fingers to massage the shampoo in for 2 to 3 minutes and then rinse the hair clean with water. Repeat once per day to keep the follicles free of dead skin cell build-up.
