What BMI Score Is Considered Overweight?

A body mass index, or BMI, of 30 or more is considered obese, according to national standards set forth by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Other factors, such as waist circumference and abdominal fat, should be considered when measuring the health risks associated with excessive weight.
