Men typically remove facial hair by shaving. However, if you are a woman, removing facial hairs can be trickier. You don't want to shave off the facial hair since this can leave behind unattractive stubble. Instead, you should use a technique that leaves behind a smooth and hairless surface. As an alternative to facial hair removal, you can use bleach to dye the unwanted hair. Keep in mind that bleaching does not provide long-lasting results and reapplications will be needed every few weeks.
Step 1
Purchase a wax to use on your face. There are specialty kits that you can purchase to get rid of your facial hair. Some brand examples are Nair Face Wax and Sally Hansen Eyebrow, Face, Lip and Chin Wax.
Step 2
Melt the wax to use on your face. Follow the package directions to heat the wax. Once melted and at a comfortable temperature, use the enclosed applicator to spread a thin and even layer of wax across the skin.
Step 3
Cover the area with the included strips. Wait for the wax to set for several minutes and then pull it away from the skin in one fluid motion.
Step 4
Keep the facial area hairless by tweezing any stray hairs. Soften the area first by taking a hot shower or placing a washcloth with warm water on the face. Brush the hair that needs to be removed in the direction that it naturally grows. Hold the skin around the hair firmly while positioning the tweezers at the base of the hair. Pull in the same direction as the hair's natural growth. Use ice on the area if you have any pain or redness after tweezing the hair.
Tips and Warnings
- Before you use the facial wax, test a small and inconspicuous area of your body. This can determine your comfort level as well as test for any skin sensitivities. For permanent removal of facial hair, you can contact a plastic surgeon or dermatologist about laser therapy or electrolysis.
