Kirkland Signature Infant Formula is distributed by Costco and is a formula for newborn infants. It provides balanced nutrition for babies as a replacement for or supplement to breast milk. The product is comparable to other formulas on the market today and is enriched with vitamins, minerals and other nutrients essential for the health of growing babies.

Government Standards

In the United States, infant formulas must meet strict quality and nutritional standards. The Infant Formula Act of 1980, with its associated amendments, is enforced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which requires infant formulas to meet these standards as defined by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Kirkland Signature Infant Formula is thoroughly tested to ensure that it meets or exceeds these requirements.

Ingredients

Kirkland Signature Infant Formula is a milk-based formula. The formula primarily contains nonfat milk, lactose, and safflower, soy and coconut oils. Parents of babies who are sensitive to milk or are lactose intolerant may choose to use a soy-based product instead. The formula comes in powder form and is mixed with water.

Nutrients

The formula offers 2.1 grams of protein, 5.3 grams of fat and 10.9 grams of carbohydrate per serving. DHA and ARA are also part of the formula. DHA, or docosahexaenoic acid, and ARA, or arachidonic acid, are long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids that are present in breast milk and may be important for proper eye and brain development. They have been added to Kirkland Signature Infant Formula to more closely simulate breast milk and to provide more complete nutrition.

Vitamins

Kirkland Signature Infant Formula is enriched with a balanced combination of vitamins. These include Vitamin A for good eyesight and the full range of B vitamins to help with protein development, proper body function and energy production. It also includes vitamins C and E for cell strength and growth, D to assist with strong bones and K for healthy blood.

Minerals

Minerals play an important part in the diet of newborns. They help with bone growth, regulation of body functions and maintenance of the body’s balance of water. Kirkland Signature Infant Formula is fortified with iron, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, manganese, copper, iodine, selenium and potassium.
