Skin Care & Murad

Murad is a company that makes a variety of skin care products. It was founded by a dermatologist named Howard Murad in 1989 and is based in Segundo, California. Murad products are available online and in retail stores that specialize in beauty products. Many Murad products are designed for a particular type of skin or condition.

General Use

Murad's general use products are designed for a variety of skin types. The Refreshing Skin Cleanser contains cucumber extract and is intended to remove makeup and oil from your face. The Skin Perfecting Lotion moisturizes the skin without clogging the pores. It's made for oily to dry skin and contains retinol to reduce skin inflammation.

Dry Skin

Products like the Murad Hydrating Toner are made to provide extra moisture to dry skin. It contains Sodium-2-pyrrolidone carboxylate (sodium PCA) to allow the skin to hold moisture. Other active ingredients include witch hazel to tighten the pores without drying the skin and peach extract to soften the skin.

Oily Skin

Skin care for oily skin requires a product that can remove excess oil from the skin without irritating it. The Murad Clarifying Toner contains an algae extract to control the production of an oily substance in the skin known as sebum. This product also contains allantoin and menthol to cool and soothe inflamed skin.

Exfoliation

Murad also makes exfoliation products to remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. The Murad Purifying Face Scrub contains corn meal and jojoba beads in a clay base to gently exfoliate your skin. The Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser dissolves dead skin cells with glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid. It also contains jojoba beads to provide exfoliation of your skin.

Acne

Murad's acne products include the Moisturizing Acne Treatment Gel. The primary active ingredient in this product is salicylic acid to clear the pores and reduce acne breakouts. It also contains moisturizers to hydrate irritated skin. Moisturizing Acne Treatment Gel is intended to be worn under makeup.
