Having dark circles around the eyes can leave a person looking a lot more aged, tired and weary than they actually are. The common consensus is that dark eye circles are nothing more than a result of sleep deprivation; however, this is most often not the case. They can be caused by many other factors like stress, genetics, congestion and skin disorders. It is important to understand that the factors aren't solely due to sleep. Only then can the victim begin to make changes in many aspects of her life in order to suppress this ailment.
Home Solutions
Step 1
Consume around a gallon of water per day. Water is an important aspect of health as our bodies are mostly composed of water.
Step 2
Avoid certain stresses on the eyes, such as staring at a TV or computer screen for extended periods of time.
Step 3
Don't leave eye lotions or creams on the areas surrounding the eye for any longer than 10 minutes.
Step 4
Slice up the raw potato or raw cucumber. Place the slices over your closed eyes, leaving them for around 20 minutes.
Step 5
Juice what is left over of the potato and cucumber. Swab the liquid with a cotton ball and let the cotton sit on the eyelids for around 20 minutes.
Step 6
Apply a lemon juice and tomato juice mixture to the darkened circle portions in the morning and at night. Be cautious not to get any of these juices in your eyes. If this does happen, flush them with water immediately.
Step 7
Make a solution of turmeric powder and pineapple juice and apply it twice a day to the dark areas surrounding the eyes.
Step 8
Ground up some fresh mint leaves adding a small bit of water to make a paste. Apply that paste around the eye twice a day. Be careful not to get this mint solution in the eyes. It will burn. If this happens, flush them out as soon as possible.
Step 9
Rub and massage the areas that are darkened with almond oil. It is best to do this before bedtime as the oil can make those darkened areas of the face look more noticeable when in public.
Step 10
Ground up a vitamin E tablet, adding a small bit of water to make a paste solution. Rub the darkened areas with that paste for around 10 minutes. Then, flush and remove any leftover powder with a mixture of egg white and honey.
