Acne is caused by the skin becoming clogged with sebum, bacteria and impurities that develop into raised bumps. These acne bumps can become pus-filled and irritated, and can lead to scarring and skin discolorations if left untreated. Luckily, there are facial massaging methods that will unblock the pores, remove dead skin and kill off acne-causing bacteria so that the skin can return to an acne-free state again. Massaging stimulates the skin and allows products to work down into the pores more readily.
Step 1
Massage the skin with castor oil to flush out blockages from the pores. Pour 1 to 2 tsp. of castor oil into your palms, and spread the oil onto moistened skin. Use your fingers to massage the oil deeply into your pores for three minutes. Fill up a large bowl with nearly boiling water. Lean 18 inches over the bowl, and place a towel over your head to force the steam to billow onto your face. After five minutes, wipe off your skin with a wet washcloth. Repeat two times per day.
Step 2
Massage the skin with baking soda to remove pore-clogging dead skin cells. Pour 1 tbsp. of baking soda into a small bowl, and mix 1 tsp. of water into it. Scoop the baking soda mixture onto your fingers, and spread it onto wet skin. Massage the mixture gently into your skin using your fingers for two to three minutes. Rinse off your skin well with water. Repeat twice per week.
Step 3
Massage the skin with tea tree oil to treat active acne breakouts. Pour 1 tsp. of jojoba oil into your palm and add in 1 drop of pure tea tree oil. Mix the two oils well and spread them onto your skin. Use your fingers to massage the oil mixture into your skin for one to two minutes. Allow the oils to sit on your skin for at least 10 minutes to kill acne-causing bacteria and microbes. Wipe off the oils with a damp washcloth. Repeat once per day.
