Blackheads can appear anywhere on the skin, including the face, chest, neck, arms, legs and back. Back acne and blackheads can be difficult to eliminate because of your inability to reach the skin in order to treat it. Fortunately, by utilizing a simple back scratcher, it is possible to apply a gentle soap in order to wash your back properly, a medicated benzoyl peroxide cream to kill off acne-causing bacteria on the back, and an oil-free moisturizing lotion to keep your back soft and to prevent the skin from overproducing oils.
Step 1
Attach a washcloth to the end of a back scratcher using a rubber band. Wet the washcloth well, and lather it using a soap designed for sensitive skin types.
Step 2
Wet your skin, and use the back scratcher to apply the lather to the effected area of the back. Do not scrub the lather in, but gently spread it around until the entire area has been covered.
Step 3
Rinse off the back well with water. Repeat twice per day.
Step 4
Attach a fresh washcloth to the end of a back scratcher using a rubber band. Squeeze a quarter-sized amount of 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide cream onto the washcloth. The cream will kill-off acne causing bacteria and flush out blackheads without causing the side effects that occur when using the stronger benzoyl peroxide creams, such as redness or burning.
Step 5
Use the back scratcher to reach the area of your back affected by blackheads. Gently apply the cream until it has been absorbed, but avoid scrubbing or rubbing it in.
Step 6
Rinse off the back well with water. Repeat twice per day.
Step 7
Attach a fresh washcloth to the end of a back scratcher using a rubber band. Squeeze a quarter-sized amount of an oil-free moisturizing lotion onto the washcloth. Moisturize the back using an oil-free moisturizing lotion, which will hydrate the skin without clogging the pores.
Step 8
Use the back scratcher to apply the moisturizer to the entire back area. Avoid rubbing the moisturizer in.
Step 9
Rinse off the back well with water. Repeat twice per day after using the benzoyl peroxide cream.
