How to Get Rid of Black Spots Created by Squeezing Acne

Blackheads can occur in the skin when bacteria and sebum become clogged inside the pores. When picking and squeezed, these skin blemishes, along with other skin breakouts, can become inflamed and aggravated, and can cause the skin to appear more blotchy and irritated than normal. In order to eliminate black spots and skin problems caused by squeezing acne, it is important to flush out the skin, remove dead skin cells that could become clogged inside the pores, and apply an acne-fighting product that works to keep the pores clear.

Step 1

Cleanse your skin with a pore flushing facial oil, such as olive oil. Spread 1 tsp. of olive oil onto your skin, and massage it in gently for at least 3 minutes.

Step 2

Soak a washcloth in steaming hot water, wring it out, and press it into the face. This will open the pores to allow the oil and sebum to drain out. The oil will will flush out any blockages caused by squeezing. When the washcloth becomes cool, use it to wipe off the oil. Apply an oil facial once per day to flush out blackheads and balance out oil production in the skin.

Step 3

Apply a mildly abrasive facial scrub by mixing 1 tsp. of baking soda, 1 tbsp. of raw oats, and 2 tbsp. of honey in a small bowl. Smooth the mixture onto your skin, and massage it around for 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 4

Wipe off the mixture back into the bowl, and rinse the skin well with warm water. Applying a scrub routinely to the skin will help reduce the effects of acne problems caused by squeezing and popping blemishes. A natural scrub can be used to remove dead skin two times per week.

Step 5

Treat active acne pustules and blackheads with salicylic acid, which helps dead skin slough off faster and prevents the pores from becoming clogged. Spread a pea-sized amount of salicylic acid gel onto your skin, using your fingers to gently massage it in until it has been absorbed. Using salicylic acid will improve the damaging effects of squeezing acne breakouts, and will prevent the skin from becoming clogged again. Apply salicylic acid gel twice per day to ward off blackheads.

Tips and Warnings

  • Olive oil is a non-pore clogging oil that can both clean out the pores and moisturize the skin. For people with oily skin problems that lead to blackheads, using olive oil can help balance out the oil production in the skin. The olive oil binds together with the blackhead causing sebum in the skin, helping it to flush out more easily. Using a facial scrub removed the dead skin that could become clogged inside the pores, which encourages the production of blackheads. Salicylic acid gel can be purchased at any supermarket or drug store, and can be used on the skin to increase the amount of dead skin cells sloughed off.
  • Avoid popping and squeezing acne blemishes and blackheads. Squeezing the skin causes irritation on the skin, and forces the bacteria, sebum and impurities to work deeper into the pores, thereby exacerbating acne.
