Numerous men and women have unwanted hair that they want to eliminate. Unwanted hair can make you feel self-conscious about your face or body especially if it is excessive. It can also be psychologically very frustrating and embarrassing. Unwanted body or facial hair is a common skin condition which has many causes including stress, medications, disease and genetics. Fortunately, there are methods that can treat and permanently eliminate unwanted hair from anywhere on the body or face.
Step 1
Talk to your physician about using Vaniqa (eflornithine HCl) to permanently remove unwanted hair. This potent prescription cream works by blocking an enzyme called ornithine decarboxylase in your hair follicle which is needed for hair to grow. Vaniqa doesn't work instantly and it will take some time for result to become visible, but you should see improvement in about two to three months.
Step 2
Consider undergoing photoepilation to permanently remove unwanted hair. This popular nonsurgical procedure is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is performed a licensed dermatologist. This procedure works by introducing intense pulses of light to individually destroy the hair follicles. You will be asked to return for more treatments since it will take three to five sessions to ensure that the results are permanent.
Step 3
Talk to a dermatologist about undergoing electrolysis to permanently eliminate unwanted hair. This cosmetic procedure involves inserting a fine wire into the hair follicles. An electric current is then introduced to destroy the hair roots and any loosened hair is manually removed using tweezers. You can also go to a beauty salon or health spa to undergo this procedure, however they will be less skilled and unprepared to treat you if any skin irritations develop.
