Bad breath is a common condition that can afflict even those who brush every day. The medical term is halitosis, and it can require aggressive treating to cure. Learn how to solve the problem and gain fresh breath along with a boost of self-confidence.
Step 1
Identify if a medical problem is causing your bad breath. You may need to see a physician. Issues that can cause halitosis include post nasal drip, gastrointestinal issues, diabetes or a respiratory infection. Have the issue treated by a qualified doctor if your halitosis is due to a medical condition.
Step 2
Improve your dental hygiene. Invest in a battery-operated toothbrush that you use at least twice a day with a baking soda based toothpaste, gargle with bacteria-killing mouthwash and floss regularly. Be sure to brush your tongue daily since bacteria collects on it.

See your dentist regularly for teeth cleaning and dental issues. Have him assess your gums as well as your teeth. He can spot early signs of gum disease and instruct you on how to keep the gums healthy which will also help your improve your breath.
