It can be challenging to properly read another person's body language when you are interested in him and trying to flirt to get his attention. There are certain signs you can read in the way a person presents himself physically when flirting. The more aware you are of those signals, the better chance your love interest will not slip away from you. Try applying this knowledge the next time you flirt with someone and see if it doesn't help you discern what the other person is communicating nonverbally to you.
Step 1
Understand that eye contact is the first sign that someone is interested in you. If the person you are flirting with makes eye contact with you for approximately 3 seconds, looks away and then returns his gaze to you for a longer period of time, you can safely assume he is interested in the flirtation. You can engage in this kind of flirtation any place.
Step 2
If someone you are interested in touches you, this is a good sign he is interested. Be aware of your love interest pretending to "accidentally" brush something off your shoulder or sleeve or lightly touching your arm when he laughs. Having your love interest touch your leg when you are sitting down is another intimate signal that this person is interested in you.
Step 3
If someone smiles and laughs a lot when in your presence, you can also read this as a sign that the person is interested in you romantically.
Step 4
If a woman slowly rubs her arm when you speak to her, you can read it as a sign that she wants you to touch her this way. If she rolls an object between her fingers or strokes a wine glass, you can read these as activities that imitate actions people take during sex.
Step 5
Understand that when a woman runs her hands through her hair, tosses it back or twirls it between her fingers when talking to you, she is communicating that she wants to look good for you.
Step 6
You can read a woman licking her lips as a sign that she is trying to bring your attention to them (in hopes of a kiss).
Step 7
When the person you are flirting with leans toward you when you talk to him, this is a sign that he is interested in getting closer to you. You can try leaning closer to him. If he leans away, he is communicating that he is not interested in being close to you. Understand that a woman will cross her legs and point one of her feet in your direction if she is interested in you.
