How to Read Body Language in Women

Flirtation is a way people try to engage with members of the opposite gender. It can be difficult for men in particular to know if women are interested in them. Fortunately, there are signs that a man can read in a woman to know if she is interested in him. While none of these body language signs alone can indicate a woman's interest, if she demonstrates a combination of these signals, you can safely guess that she would like to get romantically involved with you.

Step 1

Learn how interested a woman is in you by noticing how much sustained eye contact she makes with you. Read eye contact as a direct sign of interest, confidence and trust.

Step 2

Pay attention to whether a woman touches you when you are talking, as this is a very strong sign that she is interested in you.

Step 3

Observe whether a woman plays excessively with her hair (either twirling it, brushing it back or running her fingers through it), as this is a signal that she is trying to look her best for you.

Step 4

Be mindful of when a woman enters your personal space; this is a clear sign she is interested in getting closer to you.

Step 5

Pay attention when a woman enters your personal space and starts talking to you; she is interested and trying to learn more about you.

Step 6

Understand that a woman who is interested in you will smile a lot at you, especially if she is doing so from across a crowded room.

Step 7

Notice when a woman keeps walking by you without seeming to have a real purpose in doing so, as she is likely doing so to try to get your attention. Try talking to her to see if she really is interested.

Step 8

Observe whether a woman brings attention to her mouth by licking her lips, applying lipstick or touching her mouth with her fingers or food when talking to you. You can read this as a sign that she might want you to kiss her.

Step 9

Watch to see if a woman imitates the way you move. She could, for example, copy your hand gestures or mirror the way you eat your food. You can read her mimicry as a sign that she is interested in you.
