How to Make a Facial Mask for Dry Skin

Dry facial skin is a common problem affecting both men and women. It occurs more often in the winter season when the skin becomes very dry because of low humidity. When your face gets dry, it loses moisture and may peel and crack or become red and irritated. Other causes of dry skin include medications, alcohol and caffeine intake, chemicals and lack of vitamins. Dry skin may also lead to wrinkles. There are innumerable lotions and facial masks you can use to treat dry skin. However, these products can cost a lot of money. Luckily, you can make your own facial mask at home using a few natural ingredients.

Step 1

Add half a cup of olive oil, 6 Tbsp. of honey and one avocado in a blender. Also add four green tea bags by opening and pouring their contents into a blender. Puree the mixture and then transfer to a clean bowl to set aside.

Step 2

Wash your face with moisturizing soap and warm water to help prepare your skin for the facial mask. Avoid scrubbing your skin to prevent irritation and dryness.

Step 3

Apply a thin layer of the green tea mixture to your face. Gently massage it in a circular motion, avoiding your eyes. Leave it on your face for 20 to 30 minutes. Applying it three times a week will help keep your skin moisturized and prevent your skin from drying out.

Step 4

Wash the mixture off your face with warm water and pat it dry with a clean towel. Avoid scrubbing your face with a loofah sponge or similar scrubbing cloth to prevent skin irritation.
