How to Remove Under Eye Bags Naturally

As you age, the muscles around your eyes weaken and you are more prone to develop under eye bags. Besides aging, environmental factors and lifestyle choices can lead to baggy eyes. Bags under the eyes can also be caused by allergies and a doctor may recommend an antihistamine if you display other symptoms, such as itching, rashes or swelling. In the case that you are unable to treat the under eye bags naturally, you can speak to a plastic surgeon or dermatologist about treatment options like eyelid surgery.

Step 1

Get enough rest at night. Not getting enough sleep can worsen the look of the under eye bags and you should aim for seven to eight hours of shuteye each evening.

Step 2

Place cool and moistened teabags on the eyes. The caffeine can act as a diuretic and reduce the eye puffiness. Leave the teabags in place for 10 to 15 minutes per day.

Step 3

Drink a lot of water. Not getting enough water can cause puffiness in the face, including the under eye area. Aim for six to eight glasses of water. Avoid substances that cause you to retain water as well. Limit salty foods, such as fast food, processed meals, chips, lunch meat and Chinese food.

Step 4

Keep the fluid from accumulating under your eyes by sleeping with your head elevated. Prop up your head at night by using an extra pillow.

Step 5

Calm the area with a cool washcloth. A cool compress can reduce the puffiness found under your eyes. Hold the washcloth under your eyes for several minutes while placing a small amount of pressure. In lieu of a cool compress, as an alternative you can use cucumber slices that have been kept in the refrigerator. You should remain in an upright position while using the compresses or cucumbers to naturally get rid of the under eye bags.
