Blemishes can appear at any time in a person's life, but they most commonly appear during periods of hormonal fluctuation, such as during a pregnancy, menstruation or puberty. Acne blemishes can be an embarrassing and painful condition that can affect self-esteem. Luckily, by following an effective skin-clearing regimen, the skin to return to its naturally clear appearance.
Step 1
Buff away dead skin cells using natural, mildly abrasive substances, such as oatmeal, baking soda and honey. Combine 1 tbsp. of baking soda, 1 tbsp. of ground raw oats, and 2 tbsp. of honey in a bowl, mixing them together well. Wet the skin well with water, and spread the mixture onto the skin. Use your fingers to massage the mixture into the skin with small, circular finger movements. After one to two minutes, wipe the scrub back into the bowl and rinse off the skin with warm water. Repeat two times per day.
Step 2
Kill off acne-causing bacteria using an antibacterial, antimicrobial oil, such as tea tree oil. Drop two drops of pure tea tree oil onto a cotton ball, and soak the cotton ball in water to dilute the oil. Spread the diluted tea tree oil onto the skin, allowing it to soak into the skin. Repeat up to three times per day.
Step 3
Dry up pustules and cysts by applying an overnight calamine lotion treatment. Shake a bottle of calamine lotion well to properly mix the solution. Squeeze a goodly amount onto the end of a cotton swab, and dab the lotion onto the active acne breakouts. Allow the lotion to dry, and leave it on overnight. Wash the lotion off in the morning. Apply calamine lotion every night until the active pustules have disappeared.
