Symptoms
Stress-induced acne can appear as whiteheads, blackheads, nodules and cysts. As the Mayo Clinic explains, these are tender, red bumps that may be filled with pus. They can be found at the surface of the skin anywhere on the body, from the face to the back to the thighs.
Cause of Stress-Induced Acne

Antibiotics may also be suggested to reduce bacteria and prevent infection. Birth control is also another commonly used acne aid prescribed by dermatologists. Dermatologists may choose one of these methods or a combination of them.
Prevention
AcneCare.ca says that steps to reduce stress can be taken at home. Start by exercising daily and maintaining a healthy diet. You can also perform relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation. The Mayo Clinic also suggests that all skin products you use be oil free and noncomedogenic. This means they will not clog pores. Always wash your face at night even if you are tired and stressed. After exercising, make sure sweat and oil is cleaned away to prevent blocked pores.
