Program Description
Getting the recommended 30 to 60 minutes of daily exercise can be a tall order for anyone, especially busy parents. But you don't have to take time away from your family to get fit. The simple truth is that kids love to play. And when you play with them, you don't just build a bond, you also build muscle and blast fat!
Actions
1. Get off the park bench and swing with your kids at the playground.
2. Challenge your kids to learn a new sport with you--maybe tennis or rollerblading.
3. Volunteer to be "it" during a game of tag.
4. Invite your kids to walk the dog with you.
5. Ditch the carpool and walk your kids to school.
6. Take advantage of family swim sessions or open gym nights at your local YMCA.
7. Make exercise a family tradition--bike every night after dinner or play basketball every Saturday afternoon.
