Cream of Wheat Nutritional Analysis

Cream of Wheat is a line of instant breakfast cereals based on farina, a type of coarsely ground wheat. The original Cream of Wheat cereal contains only farina, although other Cream of Wheat cereals contain additional ingredients. Plain Cream of Wheat consists mostly of complex carbohydrates and contains no simple sugar.

Preparation

Boil a cup of water and stir in 1 1/3 oz. of Cream of Wheat cereal. Remove the water from the heat and continue stirring for two and a half minutes until the cereal is well-blended. Add a pinch of salt and serve. This nutritional information will be based on a cup of the prepared cereal with salt but no other ingredients.

A serving of Cream of Wheat cereal contains about 149 calories. Carbohydrates provide 128 calories, proteins provide 16 calories and fat makes up the remaining 5 calories.
