Pimples are caused by the pores of the face becoming clogged with sebum, oils, bacteria and dead skin cells, and can leave the face appearing blotchy and inflamed. Because acne and pimples are unsightly, people wish to eliminate them as quickly as possible. While most acne treatment products take at least three days to get rid of pimples, a certain combination of acne products can be used to eliminate a pimple in only one day, if used properly.
Step 1
Wash the face thoroughly with tea tree oil soap, which is antibacterial and can kill acne-causing bacteria on the skin. Wet your skin well with warm water, and lather your hands with the tea tree oil soap. Spread the lather onto your skin with a gentle touch, and avoid rubbing or scrubbing the skin. After the lather has been spread over the entire area, rinse it off completely with water.
Step 2
Apply the highest strength benzoyl peroxide cream directly to the individual pimple. Place a small dollop of 10 percent benzoyl peroxide cream onto the tip of your finger, and carefully apply the cream only to the active acne breakout. Re-apply the 10 percent benzoyl peroxide cream three times throughout the day.
Step 3
Apply calamine lotion to the pimple, and leave it on overnight to further dry out the pimple. Squirt calamine lotion onto a cotton swab, and dab it onto the acne blemish. Allow the lotion to dry completely, and leave it on overnight. Rinse off the calamine lotion in the morning.
Tips and Warnings
- Tea tree oil is an antibacterial and antimicrobial oil that can kill acne-causing bacteria without irritating or inflaming the skin. When used in a soap, the bacterial levels on the surface of the skin can be effectively diminished. Ten percent benzoyl peroxide cream is the highest concentration of benzoyl peroxide cream available, and because it is so strong it should only be used short-term to eliminate pimples quickly. Long-term use could result in redness, peeling or burning on the skin. Calamine lotion is typically used to treat the blisters of a chicken pox virus, but is also highly effective in eliminating the fluid in a pimple. Calamine lotion can be used on the skin without irritation and allowed to stay on the skin for up to 10 hours.
